Mother of the Groom: When No One Tells You Anything

Posted on May 21, 2026May 21, 2026 by joyfulmother

You love your son. You want everything to be perfect. And somehow you still end up being the last to know anything.

Sound familiar?

That is exactly what Episode 1 of the Mother of the Groom comic series is all about. The RSVPs you asked about twice with no reply. The group chat you were not in. The “we got it, Mom” that left you standing there wondering what exactly they have.

You were not trying to take over. You just wanted to be included.

There is a difference. A big one.

The feelings that come with being sidelined during your son’s wedding are real. They are not dramatic. They are not you being too sensitive. They are the natural result of loving someone deeply and feeling pushed to the outside of one of the most important moments of his life.

You deserve to be included. Informed. Loved through this process.

That is the whole point of this series. One episode at a time, we are going to talk about the real stuff. The stuff nobody warns you about when your son gets engaged.

Check back for Episode 2.
